Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums
We play 10-hole B-flat fifes with head joints constructed of a wood called 'pink ivory' and the bodies of African blackwood made by the Healy Flute Company in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. We play custom-built Liberty Model rope-tension single-ply Vermont maple field drums with natural skin heads, made by Cooperman Fife & Drum Company in Centerbrook Connecticut. Side drums are 17" x 15", bass drums 28" x 16".
